Educational Pathways

students working at computers in groupsAt UMBC, we’re dedicated to creating clear pathways that guide students from high school through college, and into successful careers. These pathways are designed to support students with the resources, mentoring, and professional experiences they need to thrive in their chosen fields. Our goal is to empower students from diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential and contribute to the region’s workforce in meaningful ways.

What are Educational Pathways?

Educational pathways help students navigate their academic and career journeys in fields they’re passionate about. Our pathways provide early access to college-level resources, career coaching, hands-on learning experiences, and personalized support. By the time they graduate, students are equipped with both the academic knowledge and practical skills they need to excel in their careers.

Available Pathways

STEM Ready

The STEM Ready pathway is designed to diversify the future STEM workforce by supporting students traditionally underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. This pathway starts in high school and continues through college, with opportunities for students to gain valuable career experiences, mentorship, and early access to college resources.
